    1. First cut 1" strips of red material long enough to go around each sleeve around the wrist area, depending on the length of the shirt. If the sleeves are shorter, place the strips about 4" above the end of the sleeve. Cut another strip that will span the neckline and attach with fabric glue. Allow to dry overnight.

    2. If you want to create an authentic looking Raggedy Ann costume look, you can sew the red buttons on the apron. Place one at the top of the left side and one at the top of the right side.

    3. Put on the shirt, skirt and apron over it. Put on tights and shoes.

    4. Put up hair with bobby pins. Place wig on your head.

    5. Make red circles on your cheeks with either red face paint or red lipstick and fill them in. Make a red rectangle on your nose the same way.

    6. Adults can add black mascara and red lipstick.

If you can't find red and white striped socks or stockings, you can take a permanent red magic marker and draw stripes on a pair of white socks or stockings.

Viola! You have yourself a homemade Raggedy Ann costume that cost you next to nothing to make!
